Todays article revolves around What Will Call of Duty 2020 Game be Like. But before we dive in let’s talk about Call Of Duty Itself. What is Call of Duty? Call of Duty, published by Activision is a first-person shooter video game produced from an original creative work of fiction. Call of Duty’s first focus was on the games set in World war II. But the series has seen games set in modern times the middle of the Cold War, futuristic worlds and outer space, over time. Its developers include Infinity war, Treyarch, Sledgehammer Games.
What Call of Duty 2020 Game will be like
Activision Blizzard hasn’t announced who would be handling the 2020 Call of Duty game yet. He has always maintained a strict pattern when it comes to Call of Duty’s development cycle for 8 years now. The publisher hasn’t mentioned which of its developers would be working on the Call of Duty game scheduled for 2020. This led to the speculation that something unexpected might be happening this time around.
Activision, however, has maintained a new pattern with Call of Duty from 2012 to 2019. Treyarch releases a Call of Duty game, followed by Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer, and then the three repeat in this order. This gives each of the studios a shield of about three years between each game they make. And also enables Activision to maintain its annual Call of Duty release schedule easily. Treyarch released Black Ops II in 2012 and also went as far as making 2015’s Black Ops III and 2018’s Black Ops 4. While Infinity Ward released Ghosts in 2013 followed by 2016’s Infinite Warfare and 2019’s Modern Warfare. Also, Sledgehammer released Advanced Warfare in 2014, then WWII in 2017. The developer should be scheduled to release its third Call of Duty game in 2020, supposing the trend continues. And then followed by Treyarch releasing its next game in 2021.
Kotaku’s Comment on the Release of the Call of Duty Game
Following what Kotaku said, Activision was already handling the release of Call of Duty 2020 differently. He partnered Sledgehammer with Raven to tackle the project together. Similar to how Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer partnered on Modern Warfare 3. There would be a slight change, but nothing will interrupt Activision’s partner.
According to the same report from Kotaku. Treyarch is now the studio in charge of 2020s Call of Duty because things haven’t been on track for Sledgehammer and Raven. Sledgehammer and Raven were reported to have been working on a Call of Duty set during the events of the cold war. But, tensions between the two teams resulted in a delay. This two-team are reportedly reassigned as support studios for Treyarch, rumored to be working on Black Ops 5 and the game is coming in 2020.
Although, Activision hasn’t confirmed any of this yet. He believes that 2020’s Call of Duty won’t sell well like 2019’s Modern Warfare. Now that Infinity Ward and Activision have announced plans to continue to support Modern Warfare, it may be disastrous for Activision to do what has always been done and move to the next Call of Duty entry soonest.
Treyarch forgoes a traditional single-player campaign in 2018’s Black Ops 4 and included a battle royale mode called BLACKOUT. So Activision is looking forward to Treyarch to develop a new Call of Duty game that is focused around battle royale.
Activision hasn’t confirmed any of this yet. So all of what we say here could end up being untrue because he hasn’t mentioned who is handling the game.
