Washington’s top-diplomat also added that people should download the app. Only if they want to hand over their personal and private pieces of information to the Chinese Communist Party.

Following what Mike Pompeo said, one of the Tik Tok spokespeople also added to the comment. He said: “Tik Tok is led by an American CEO, with hundreds of employees and key leaders across safety, security, product, and public policy here in the US”. “We have no higher priority than promoting a safe and secure app experience for our users. We have never provided user data to the Chinese government, nor would we do so if asked”.

Pompeo’s comment came in just during the tensions between the US and China. Which has reached several arenas not excluding trade, technology, and national security?

However, an unknown MP also made some comments to Herald Sun. He said that the Tik Tok app should be seriously investigated and watched to check or notice if it is working hands to hands with the Chinese Communist Party to steal data and claims also that most of his fellow politicians agree to it.

In response to the Indian’s ban, Kevin Mayer (the company’s chief executive) refused to admit the truth that Tik Tok shared data with the Chinese government. In his letter, he said: “I can confirm that the Chinese government has never made a request to us for the Tik Tok data of Indian users”. He further added: “If we ever receive such a request in the future, we would not comply”.

Tik Tok’s Comment

Tik Tok, owned by Beijing-based startup ByteDance has been criticized several times by the United States politicians. The US politicians accused the company of being a great threat to national security just because of its ties with China. They also laid allegations. Saying that the company could be obliged to “support and cooperate with intelligence work controlled by the Chinese Communist Party”.

The short-form video app mentioned recently that it works separately from ByteDance. It also added that its data center locations are not within China at all but outside China. And that no part of the data is subject to Chinese Law. According to Tik Tok: US user data is being stored in the United States, having a backup in Singapore. Aside from that, a spokesperson for the company told the CNN Business in May. He said that national security concerns are unjustified and untruthful.

This app has really gotten a big name in so many countries including the US and some other western countries. Tik Tok is the Chinese’first social media platform to gain important traction with users. Users that stay or live outside their home country.
