Tecno is one of the brands that the Chinese phone manufacturer Transsion uses to sell its products in international markets, most notably in the African continent.
This year, the company has elevated its Phantom product line to the status of its flagship product line, with the goal of expanding into new markets, such as Turkey. In essence, it has little in common with Tecno’s previously released Phantom devices, such as the Phantom 9 and Phantom 8.
Even though it is the flagship of Tecno’s portfolio, the term “flagship” should be used with caution in this context.

In terms of specifications, the Phantom X is a slightly improved version of the Tecno Camon 17 Pro. AMOLED technology is used in the Phantom, which replaces the LCD with a more advanced camera setup. The MediaTek G95 processor powers both devices, which is the same as in the Phantom.
However, don’t make a decision based solely on the chipset. The Phantom X comes equipped with high-end features that increase the overall value of the device. There are several notable features, including a 50MP main sensor (which is the same as that found in the Vivo X60 Pro+), a dedicated 13MP telephoto camera (2x zoom), and an 8MP ultrawide camera with autofocus. A massive 48MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide selfie camera are housed in the rather large punch-hole on the front of the phone, ensuring that the selfie side is not neglected either.
The following are the Tecno Phantom X specifications in a nutshell:
Body dimensions: 163.5×73.8×8.7mm, weight: 201g; glass front and back (Gorilla Glass 5).
Display: 6.70-inch Super AMOLED with a refresh rate of 90Hz and a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 385 pixels per inch.
Chipset: In terms of the chip, it is the Mediatek Helio G95 (12 nm), which has an Octa-core (2×2.05GHz Cortex-A76 and 6×2.0GHz Cortex-A55) and the Mali-G76 MC4, which is the Mali-G76 MC4.
Memory: 256GB, 8GB RAM, and a microSD card slot are available.
OS/Software: Android 11 and HIOS 7.6 are the operating system and software, respectively.
Rear camera: Wide (primary): 50 MP, f/1.9, 1/1.3″, 1.2m, Dual Pixel PDAF, Laser AF; Wide (secondary): 50 MP, f/1.9, 1/1.3″, 1.2m, Dual Pixel PDAF, Laser AF; Photographic telephoto lens with 13 MP, f/2.45 aperture, 50mm focal length, phase detection autofocus, and 2x optical zoom; The camera has an ultra-wide-angle lens with an 8 MP sensor and an aperture of f/2.25, a 120-degree field of view, a 1/4-inch sensor and an autofocus system.

Battery capacity: 4700mAh; fast charging at 33W results in 70 percent charge in 30 minutes (advertised).
Miscellaneous: Fingerprint reader (optical, under the display); FM radio; 3.5mm jack.
Aside from the cameras, the device is distinguished by a large, curved 6.7-inch OLED display that can be held up with pride. It has a refresh rate of 90Hz and a color gamut coverage of the DCI-P3 standard. There’s also an optical fingerprint reader hidden beneath the surface, as is only natural.
Also included are 33W fast charging, which should be able to recharge the 4,700 mAh battery by 70% in 30 minutes, a full-featured dual SIM + microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm audio jack on the bottom of the device. Final and foremost, the Phantom X is distinguished by an elegantly rounded premium-looking design, which incorporates a patterned glass back, Gorilla Glass 5 on the front, and an aluminum frame. When premium features are combined with a mid-range SoC, it’s a rare combination that has the potential to snatch some customers away from the big-name brands.
The only drawback is that the Tecno brand isn’t well-established in many countries, which means that its primary markets are still Africa and Turkey. There has been no indication of when the game will be released in Europe.
