Tecno Phantom X Review

Tecno is one of the brands that the Chinese phone manufacturer Transsion uses to sell its products in international markets, most notably in the African continent.

This year, the company has elevated its Phantom product line to the status of its flagship product line, with the goal of expanding into new markets, such as Turkey. In essence, it has little in common with Tecno’s previously released Phantom devices, such as the Phantom 9 and Phantom 8.

Even though it is the flagship of Tecno’s portfolio, the term “flagship” should be used with caution in this context.

In terms of specifications, the Phantom X is a slightly improved version of the Tecno Camon 17 Pro. AMOLED technology is used in the Phantom, which replaces the LCD with a more advanced camera setup. The MediaTek G95 processor powers both devices, which is the same as in the Phantom.

However, don’t make a decision based solely on the chipset. The Phantom X comes equipped with high-end features that increase the overall value of the device. There are several notable features, including a 50MP main sensor (which is the same as that found in the Vivo X60 Pro+), a dedicated 13MP telephoto camera (2x zoom), and an 8MP ultrawide camera with autofocus. A massive 48MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide selfie camera are housed in the rather large punch-hole on the front of the phone, ensuring that the selfie side is not neglected either.

The following are the Tecno Phantom X specifications in a nutshell:

Also included are 33W fast charging, which should be able to recharge the 4,700 mAh battery by 70% in 30 minutes, a full-featured dual SIM + microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm audio jack on the bottom of the device. Final and foremost, the Phantom X is distinguished by an elegantly rounded premium-looking design, which incorporates a patterned glass back, Gorilla Glass 5 on the front, and an aluminum frame. When premium features are combined with a mid-range SoC, it’s a rare combination that has the potential to snatch some customers away from the big-name brands.

The only drawback is that the Tecno brand isn’t well-established in many countries, which means that its primary markets are still Africa and Turkey. There has been no indication of when the game will be released in Europe.
